Now is the time to sign up. USA Gold Wrestling Club is now accepting registration for the Winter Collegiate Season. 2nd grade through 5th grade wrestlers are eligible for the winter season. Instruction for the collegiate season is geared for the beginner to the advanced wrestlers. Fundamental skills are stressed and instructed in a progressive manner that stresses skill mastery. (Any LUSD students 6th grade through 8th interested in wrestling during the collegiate season are encouraged to contact Loomis Jr. High Wrestling held at Placer Elementary.)
Tournaments and competitions will be determined as the season progresses and are dependent on the individual wrestlers readiness to compete.
Experienced Coaches
USA Gold’s coaching staff includes current Del Oro High School coaches. Del Oro High School consistently has some of the most skilled wrestlers in the Sacramento Area and has been Sierra Foothill League Champions 13 out of the past 16 years.
Great facilities
USA Gold Wrestling Club practices at Del Oro High School in the Wrestling Gym. This facility is approximately 5000 sq. ft. and is considered one of the largest and best equipped wrestling facilities in Northern California. Closest parking is located in upper lot by Pool. The wrestling facilities are located towards the rear of school to the left as you walk down the stairs from the Pool.
Past Club Wrestlers Accomplishments:
• 42 members went on to wrestle in the High School State Championship Tournament
• 13 former California High School State Placers
• 5 former California High School State Finalists
• 2 former California High School State Champions
• 15 former members wrestled for NCAA Div. 1 Colleges
Practices: Tuesday and Thursday 6:00 pm - 7:15 pm
The starting date for the Collegiate Season is November 8 and the season runs through Feb 23. Wrestlers can sign up at any time, but it is highly recommended to sign up early, as practices are taught in a progressive manner.
The Freestlye season begins in mid February and runs through early May. Practices are held Tuesday and Thursday during a very similar timeframe.
Note: No specific clothing is required for wrestling practices. Clothing must be clean and free of zippers and snaps. Wrestling shoes are recommended (not required) and can be purchased at local sporting supply stores.
